The Emery/Weiner School

Avery Tiras is a proud graduate of The Emery/Weiner School in Houston, Texas.  Tiras reflects on his days at Emery/Weiner fondly as a formative experience that set the foundation not only for his career, but who he is as a person.  From a young age, Tiras had been interested in investing and personal economics.  While at Emery/Weiner, he noticed that many of his peers either lacked this interest or weren’t at least equipped with the fundamentals.  Hoping to change this and spearhead actual change, Tiras launched “What I$.”  The group encouraged economic and personal accounting literacy by providing students with resources and information otherwise left out of the textbooks and the classroom.

Vanderbilt University

Avery Tiras graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University in 2020.  Much like his time at The Emery/Weiner School, Tiras was actively involved in various student organizations during his enrollment at Vanderbilt.  He played for Vanderbilt Club Baseball and also worked as a Tour Guide, welcoming in-coming and prospective students to the campus.  Tiras was also a Founding Member of the Vanderbilt Real Estate Club.
